Salt Lake City Public Library System Opens the Marmalade Branch Library

This two-story facility provides 18,600 square feet for the Marmalade community. Program elements include: a dedicated children’s library, a teen / young adult area, a small café, public access computer stations, and reading areas. The second floor includes the adult collection, study rooms and a large, flexible multi-purpose room with tiered seating.

The building has a decorative and functional exterior shading device along the west-facing glass that minimizes solar heat gain. Mechanical systems include multiple high-efficiency, condensing boilers as well as a single variable air volume rooftop unit with direct expansion cooling and hydronic heating.  The Marmalade Library is expected to achieve LEED Silver certification.
