Our award-winning design for
this 24-story, 415,000 ft² high-rise office building
is a credit to our innovative mechanical design. The
One Utah Center received an ASHRAE Technology Award
(1st Place) for achievement in the design and operation
of energy-efficient buildings.
The mechanical system furnishes over 80% of the building's
annual cooling requirements without the use of mechanical
refrigeration. In addition, the building was designed
with thermal storage for summer and winter space conditioning
needs. In the winter, the building owner has the option
of operating electric boilers or gas boilers.
